Evaluating Contradictory Experimental and Non-Experimental Estimates of Neighborhood Effects on Economic Outcomes for Adults

چکیده
Although non-experimental studies find robust neighborhood effects on adults, such findings have been challenged by results from the Moving to Opportunity (MTO) residential mobility experiment. Using a within-study comparison design, this paper compares experimental and estimates MTO parallel analysis of Panel Study Income Dynamics (PSID). Striking similarities were found between based PSID. No clear evidence was that different are related duration adult exposure disadvantaged neighborhoods, non-linear conditions, magnitude change in context, frequency moves, treatment effect heterogeneity, or measurement, although uncertainty bands around our sometimes large. One other possibility is MTO-induced moves might unusually disruptive, but inconsistent for hypothesis. Taken together, suggest selection bias account economic outcomes studies.

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water
abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
Experimental Analysis of Neighborhood Effects on Youth
We examine the effects of moving out of high-poverty neighborhoods on the outcomes of teenage youth, a population often seen as most at risk from the adverse effects of such neighborhoods. The randomized design of the Moving To Opportunity demonstration allows us to compare groups of youth, initially similar and living in high-poverty public housing. An “experimental” group was offered vouchers...
